Officially, Georgia has become part of the European Greenways network, which brings together: safe and accessible green routes, sustainable transport and soft mobility, tourism based on nature and cultural heritage, and support for local communities and small businesses.
Our organization’s goal is to gradually and more widely introduce European experience in Georgia by developing eco-tourism and cycling routes, sharing international standards, building partnerships, and transferring knowledge.
We are pleased to announce that our greenways received special recognition from the jury (Special Mention) at the 12th European Greenways Award 2025, held in Abanto-Zierbena, in the Basque Country, Spain 🇪🇸
🏅🏅The recognition was granted to two of our candidates — the Akhmeta and Tianeti Greenways — for their outstanding approach, which involved adapting the European greenways concept to local Georgian conditions.
🌍 The European Greenways Award is an international competition organized by the European Greenways Association (EGWA), a European network that rewards projects promoting safe, sustainable, and green tourism products.
This recognition is important for Georgia and confirms that our country is gradually taking its rightful place on the European green tourism map 💚
